Mortal Danger

Writer: DEBORAH COCOSDEBORAH COCOS

For someone who needs this.

2 Corinthians 1:8-10 NLT

8. We think you ought to know, dear brothers and sisters, about the trouble we went through in

the province of Asia. We were crushed and overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure, and we

thought we would never live through it.

9. In fact, we expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to

rely only on God, who raises the dead.

10. And He did rescue us from mortal danger, and He will rescue us again. We have placed our

confidence in Him, and He will continue to rescue us.

Have you ever experienced a situation where you thought you would not live through it? Maybe

you prepared your mind and heart for death, as it seemed to be the only option. Paul

experienced this very thing. I love his response to a deadly situation that he could not do

anything about - he stopped relying on his own ability and relied on God Almighty who raises

the dead. You see, if God wanted Paul to continue his ministry on earth, He would raise him

back to life if he was killed. But, if his time was over on earth, God would still raise him from the

dead when Jesus returned. Either way, it would be the supernatural power of God that would do

the work.

Friends, we are in a spiritual battle that is manifesting in the natural. Sickness, disease, moral

failure, financial lack, and much more are attacking God's people. He wants to wear out the saints and neutralize the power God has given them. If this is you, I encourage you to respond like Paul and give it to the only One who can raise the dead. Give the fear and anxiety to God, who can rescue us. I speak from experience, not just blathering about the scriptures. When faced with mortal danger, fight in the Spirit, not within your own ability, for in doing so, you are giving God the faith needed to allow Him to work miracles. Blessings.
